Man nabbed over drunken assault on neighbours

 Two victims suffered injuries after being attacked with a sharp weapon and had to be rushed to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.

PETALING JAYA:

Police arrested a man who allegedly assaulted his neighbours with a sharp object while drunk on Saturday, causing the victims to be rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Gombak police chief Ibrahim Husin said the incident occurred at around 8.30pm on July 11, when the drunken man suddenly entered his neighbour’s house and caused a commotion.

“During the ruckus, the suspect attacked the complainant’s family with a sharp object. As a result, two victims suffered injuries and had to be rushed to Sungai Buloh Hospital to be treated.

“Police arrested the suspect at around noon today and confiscated several case items. A remand application will be made tomorrow to facilitate further investigations,” he said in a statement.

Ibrahim said the case is being probed under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing hurt with a dangerous weapon. - FMT
