The PKR vice-president says that unlike in Johor, the campaign tactics will be 'adjusted' to retain Pakatan Harapan's hold on the Negeri Sembilan government.

Amirudin said he was formally appointed to the role yesterday to manage the coalition’s election campaigns, adding that he would be actively involved in the upcoming Negeri Sembilan polls.
“In Negeri Sembilan, (state PH chief) Aminuddin Harun has already implemented several preliminary steps.
“We will combine our efforts so that we can develop a smooth workflow and deliver a clear and organised message (to voters),” he said, according to Berita Harian.
Amirudin, who is also PKR’s joint election director with home minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, said PH would adjust its strategies for the Aug 1 Negeri Sembilan polls to retain its hold on the state government.
He said a post-mortem on Saturday’s Johor election found that PH suffered a decline in Malay support.
PH focused more on its core support base in Johor, especially through mega ceramahs.
“In Johor, perhaps we were in the position of an opposition seeking to wrest control of the state government. So, aggressive campaigns must align with the mood and tone (on the ground),” he said.
For the Negeri Sembilan election, however, PH would tweak its campaign tactics based on the background of areas being contested and the candidates fielded.
Yesterday, PH unveiled its 36 candidates for the 16th state election, including heavyweights DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook and Aminuddin.
In the Johor polls, Barisan Nasional won 48 of 56 seats up for grabs while PH took the remaining eight. - FMT
