Teacher jailed 15 years in third conviction for sexually assaulting minors

PETALING JAYA:

A 43-year-old boarding school teacher and hostel warden was sentenced by the Kuching sessions court to 15 years in jail and six strokes of the rotan for sexually assaulting a Form 2 male student.

Judge Noorhisham Jaafar sentenced the accused after finding him guilty under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act, Dayak Daily reported.

The offence took place in the warden’s quarters on the second floor of the boys’ hostel in mid-2022.

It was the accused’s third conviction under charges of sexually assaulting minors.

On May 8, he was sentenced to 16 years’ imprisonment and 13 strokes of the cane for sexually assaulting another 14-year-old boy in June 2022.

Before that, on Oct 3 of last year, he was sentenced to 15 years’ jail and 10 strokes of the cane for the sexual assault of a 16-year-old boy in October 2022. - FMT
