After Nazri-MCA spat, BN leaders told to keep lid on 'personal opinions'

Umno information chief Annuar Musa has urged BN leaders not to make statements on their own so as not to “confuse” the people on various issues.
“We advise party leaders to avoid causing confusion and giving wrong messages, because the public cannot differentiate between personal and party opinions.
“I see many giving their own opinions even when they are senior party leaders, but the public cannot tell the difference,” he said after the Ketereh parliamentary constituency BR1M handing out ceremony in Kota Bharu today.
He was asked to comment on the ongoing public spat between Umno supreme council member Nazri Abdul Aziz and MCA that has dragged through the past week.
Nazri and MCA leaders have been engaged in a war of wordsover tycoon Robert Kuok.
Annuar also told his constituents BN leaders and officers have been told to be more careful in the face of alleged “fake news” by the opposition, which he claimed would be made at the last minute.
“At such a time, the (BN) government may not have time to respond.
“There are certain media at home and abroad that have been given false news to be publicised when the 14th general election comes,” he claimed.
“I advise Umno leaders not to issue any statements that would confuse the people, and which could be manipulated by the opposition,” he said, adding their opponents were “watching their every statement” for an opportunity to attack. -Mkini
