Amid Cameron Highlands tussle, MIC Youth 'thanks' MyPPP

Amid a perceived tussle between Barisan Nasional components MIC and PPP over the Cameron Highlands seat, MIC Youth chief C Sivarraajh today thanked MyPPP president M Kayveas for his work in the parliament constituency.
"I would like to thank Kayveas for helping BN. I don't see him as my opponent," said Sivarraajh who is the MIC Cameron Highlands parliamentary coordinator and has been touted to be the party's candidate in the area.
"I thank him (Kayveas) for strengthening us and preparing for our (BN)'s victory with a big majority.
"I am not out to fight with anyone," he told a press conference at the party's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur this morning.
Sivarraajh said this when asked for comments on MyPPP's insistence that Kayveas (photo) should be fielded in the seat in GE14 as the party had been doing work on the ground for several years.
Kayveas himself previously revealed he had waited 17 yearsto contest in Cameron Highlands.
While declining to confirm rumours surrounding his own candidacy in Cameron Highlands, Sivarraajh reiterated that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak as BN chairperson's promise that the seat would remain with the MIC.
"We have always delivered the seat and so the seat belongs to us.
"It has been our traditional seat and so there is no reason for us to give up the seat," he said.
MIC president Dr S Subramaniam in October last year said Najib had personally informed him that the Cameron Highlands seat would not be handed over to MyPPP.
Earlier, Sivarraajh announced that MIC Youth together with other BN component parties would be launching its GE14 roadshow and "BN4U Carnival" at Cameron Highlands on March 9.
He said the programme primarily targeted towards youth voters would be organised across 11 "MIC hot seats" - five parliament and six state constituencies - leading up to GE14. -Mkini
