Azmin: If you dare, blame PM for Selangor water cuts

The Selangor government should not be blamed for the ongoing water disruption across the state, Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali said today.
"If you dare, blame the prime minister," Azmin told reporters in Shah Alam after attending a signing ceremony between Selangor and Pahang to legitimise borders between the two states.
"I don't want to blame anyone but on the part of the state government, we have taken all proactive measures to ensure that this (water supply disruptions) does not happen," Azmin said.
He was responding to a question on whether the Selangor government should be blamed for current water disruption in Kuala Lumpur and six areas across the state from Tuesday until this weekend.
Azmin said Selangor did not have an issue with inadequate treated water supply but the current situation was beyond its control as it has yet to acquire Syarikat Pengeluaran Air Sungai Selangor Sdn Bhd (Splash) from the federal government.
Scheduled repair work at the Splash-operated Sungai Selangor Water Supply Scheme Phase 3 (SSP3) earlier this week had caused the ongoing water disruption in Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Langat.
However, a sudden surge vessel system burst at the SSP3 plant on Tuesday, delaying the scheduled restoration of water supply to the affected areas until Sunday
