The date of the tabling of the Election Commission's (EC) report on its redelineation in Parliament has not been decided yet, said Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said he will discuss the matter with Prime Minister Najib Razak and the Dewan Rakyat speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia soon to set the date.
“The date has not been set, because there is the debate on the royal address first.
“After that comes the parliamentary replies from the ministers, followed by (the tabling of) new acts,” said Zahid at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
EC chairperson Mohd Hashim Abdullah yesterday surprised many when he submitted the report on its controversial redelineation exercise to the prime minister.
Bersih acting chairperson Sharul Aman Mohd Saari said this was unconstitutional, as only about 20 percent of the objections for the second round of local inquiries in Selangor has been heard thus far. -Mkini
