Najib has achieved more than Dr M, says Annuar

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's achievements in his nine years of heading the administration has exceeded what Dr Mahathir Mohamad achieved during his 22 years in power, said Annuar Musa (above).

In a statement, the Umno information chief said that Najib was very "resilient" and committed to his vision and transformation agenda to bring about development for the rakyat.

"Just look at the National Transformation Programme (NTP) Report, which shows that Malaysia is close to achieving a high-income nation status.

"For sure, Mahathir himself would admit that his mentee, Najib, has turned out to be better than his expectations," said Annuar.

According to Annuar, Najib has the various noble qualities of previous Umno leaders.

"Najib seems to have inherited patience from Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the charisma of Anwar Ibrahim, the firmness of Hussein Onn, and the craft and knowledge from his own father, Razak.

"Mahathir also has to admit the fact that Najib is leading Umno, and the country, better."

Among Najib's achievements, Annuar said, were "stronger" national unity, better relations with the Malay rulers, better economic rating and diplomatic relations, as well as higher national reserves and gross domestic product (GDP).

Cavorting with opposition

Najib was also more "creative", Annuar added, with his methods of drafting more targeted subsidies, extending more help to the people, including those in Sabah and Sarawak and transforming the East Coast of the peninsula.

Annuar said Mahathir would "surely" lament these "hard to debunk" truths when he is alone.

He also claimed that the nonagenarian was cavorting with the opposition because he had "no other choice."

"Mahathir knows that DAP is not his choice, and Anwar is not fit to be given a role.

"Mahathir also knows that Mat Sabu (Amanah's Mohamad Sabu) is just a 'fighting cock' and that his 'deep' wound is due the sacking of his beloved 'Boboi (Mukhriz Mahathir) as the Kedah menteri besar, some time ago.

"Mahathir is intent on fighting even when there is no pact (Pakatan), and no hope (Harapan)," said Annuar. -Mkini
