Tan Sri Sanusi Junid passed away early this morning. He had woken up to say his subuh prayers and was performing his ablutions when he suddenly collapsed. Tan Sri had been a long time heart patient. I received the notification at 8.25 am and went to the Masjid Saidina Umar Al Khattab at Bukit Damansara where the jenazah had arrived before 11.30 am.

PJ : Former Agriculture Minister and Kedah Mentri Besar Tan Sri Sanusi Junid has passed away at the age of 74.
His body will be taken to Masjid Saidina Umar Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.
Sanusi joined Umno in 1963 and was elected as the Jerai MP in 1974 at the age of 31, before becoming the Deputy Home Minister from 1980 to 1981.
He was the National and Rural Development Minister in 1981 before winning the Jerlun seat in the 1982 general election.
Sanusi was the Minister of Agriculture in 1986 before becoming the seventh Kedah Mentri Besar from 1996 to 1999.
He won the Kuah state assembly seat in the 2000 general election before leaving Umno in 2008 and joining Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia in 2016.

My comments : I have known Tan Sri for some years now. Tan Sri Sanusi Junid was perhaps the most enigmatic man our country has seen in a very long time. His exploits always in the background are legendary. Maybe one day someone will write down all his exploits in the politics of this country and also in its nation building.
For now, Innalilaahi wa inna ilaihi raajiuun which means 'For surely we come from Allah and surely to Allah we shall return.'
