Netizens are questioning whether an image of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers was photo-shopped out of the BN manifesto launched by BN chairperson Najib Abdul Razak on Saturday night.
Questions arose following the picture featuring the Kuala Lumpur landscape on page 17 of the BN manifesto which only showed the Kuala Lumpur Tower among others.
Eagle-eyed netizens, however, pointed out how Twin Towers shadow could still be seen reflected in the lake in the picture.
Facebook page “Najib Razak Must Go” described this as an “epic photo-shop failure by BN”.
“They tried to remove KLCC because it’s (former premier) Mahathir Mohamad’s legacy. But they forgot KLCC’s reflection is still on the lake!”
Malaysiakini sent it photographer to capture the actual scenery (below) depicted in the BN manifesto picture for our readers to have a clear comparison.

The 88-storey twin towers structure is known worldwide as one of Malaysia’s famous landmarks. It is widely seen as the brainchild of Mahathir.
Facebook user Warren Leo took to the social media site with a post on the matter.
“If one can wilfully remove the Petronas Twin Towers from page 17 of the BN manifesto because they think the voters are stupid, you should also wonder what else these political operators are willing to do.
“The Petronas Twin Towers were removed using Photoshop with instructions given by someone. Go figure who.”
Mahathir himself retweeted another user, “The Mamu” who noted how the KLCC might have been removed because it was Mahathir’s legacy.
“But the reflection can still be seen on the lake. This is how Mahathir haunts Najib and Umno/BN.”
Mahathir also retweeted a picture of international DJ Zedd posing in front of the KLCC (photo below). Zedd was in Kuala Lumpur as part of his Asia Club Tour.
“A lovely picture of the beautiful Twin Towers. Malaysians are always proud of the KLCC. It is our national icon,” said Mahathir in his accompanying caption.
