Dr M wants ROS, EC chiefs publicly shamed for doing Najib's 'dirty work'

GE14 | Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad wants the heads of the Registrar of Societies and Election Commission to be shamed in newspapers and social media.

He said this is to show the world that they had carried out Umno president Najib Abdul Razak's "dirty work."

"We want to advertise in papers around the world, through social media and so on, the pictures of this (ROS chief) Surayati Ibrahim, and, what's his name, the chairperson of the Election Commission (Hashim Abdullah).

"We will put an arrow to show, these are the humans doing Najib's dirty work.

"Let the whole world know that because of dedak (bribes), or more than that, they are willing to deny the rights of Malaysians," he said at a fundraiser in Muar this evening.

Mahathir was incensed by the ROS' move to temporarily deregister his party, as well as news reports that quoted Hashim as purportedly saying that Harapan needed the EC's permission to use a common logo.

The nonagenarian said these were efforts to prevent Harapan from winning the upcoming 14th general election.

Mahathir also reiterated his vow to remain defiant in the face of any restrictions imposed on Bersatu or Harapan, and urged others to do the same. 

"I dare Najib and the government come with the police and arrest everyone. Arrest nine million Malaysians. 

"Only then can Najib win the election, but it will not be a valid victory as a large number of Malaysians did not get to exercise their rights to vote," he said.  -Mkini
