Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad sarcastically said he was fearful of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, but wondered if the "Bugis warrior" would dare to debate him.
Mahathir said this in response to Najib, who last Sunday warned opponents against challenging a Bugis warrior. Najib is of Bugis descent.
"He dares to fight anyone, that is why I am shaken and feel very afraid.
"I wouldn't dare to meet him unless he is willing to debate me in another programme of 'Nothing to Hide'.
"Please come meet this person who is afraid of you," he said in a video uploaded on his official Facebook page tonight.
Mahathir's proposal for another ‘Nothing to Hide’ forum would be the third of its kind.
The first took place in 2015, where Najib was supposed to address audiences about the 1MDB scandal, but the event was later hijacked by Mahathir.
Mahathir went on to criticise Najib onstage as the prime minister was a no-show at Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
Mahathir's party Bersatu organised a ‘Nothing to Hide 2’ in August 2017, but Najib did not accept the invitation.
The event proceeded without Najib, but an unidentified group attacked the event, throwing chairs and bottles at Mahathir's direction, as well as releasing flares in the Shah Alam venue. - Mkini
