GE14 | BN chairperson Najib Abdul Razak tonight unveiled BN's 220-page manifesto with a motto that bears similarities to US president Donald Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’.
The BN manifesto, with the theme "Bersama BN, Hebatkan Negaraku" (Make the country great with BN) contains a total of 364 promises.
The document covers general topics, such as cost of living, economy, and education, but also contained special sections for various interest groups.
Among them are military and police personnel, as well as women.
Najib, when unveiling the BN manifesto in a packed Stadium Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur, also made a special mention of the key vote bank.
"We consider women as the backbone for the country, for the government, and of course, for BN," he said.
The manifesto also has extensive measures to address housing issues.
As Najib presented BN's manifesto, he also made a point to contrast the ruling coalition's promises to those of Pakatan Harapan.
Najib even brought along with him a copy of Harapan's manifesto, which he showed to the crowd.
"We pledge to create three million jobs... I look at the opposition's manifesto, but they only promised to create one million jobs. That's too few. BN promises three million," he said.
Najib was flanked by top BN leaders, as well as state chiefs from across the country.
The crowd, seated according to their home states, cheered wildly as Najib announced promises to specific states.
The launch of the BN manifesto today coincides with the dissolution of Parliament.
