IN TRYING TO PLEASE NAJIB, ANNUAR MUSA BUNGLES AGAIN: INSTEAD OF HUMILIATING DR MAHATHIR, PIC OF EX-PM SNOOZING TRIGGERS SLEW OF PICTURES OF NAJIB HIMSELF SLEEPING AT VARIOUS FORUMS, DIALOGUES & MEETINGS

Umno information chief Annuar Musa has posted a photograph on Facebook showing Dr Mahathir Mohamad dozing off during an event.
He then recalled the former premier’s remarks about his handpicked successor, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who suffered from sleep apnea.
Mahathir had often made fun of Abdullah’s condition.
Even as recent as 2016, the former premier took a shot at Abdullah, who is better known as Pak Lah, when he trained his guns on caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.
“Pak Lah slept and got (140) seats (in the 2008 general election), he (Najib) got 133 (seats in the last general election),” he had said.
In his 2013 book titled “Awakening”, Abdullah said Mahathir knew he was suffering from sleep apnea but still accused him of snoozing on the job.
“I did tell Mahathir of my condition so for him to say I doze off because I am not interested in the job is most unkind,” he wrote.
In his posting, Annuar said it was not Mahathir’s fault, as age catches up with everyone.
“It is said that he is often ill, often coughs, sometimes forgets, sometimes falls asleep. Back then, he used to talk about Pak Lah, but now, look how great is God,” he said.
Once again, Annuar said it was not Mahathir’s fault but rather that of his children who are not independent.
“The father as well, exploited during a period when health and prayer should be prioritised. On the contrary, much time is spent slandering others.
“Religion is ignored. Enemies of Islam are befriended, Muslim leaders are considered foes. U-turns are made just because of frustration and anger that what he said was ignored.
“It is not his fault. He is exploited. He is like a prisoner of war with no choice, used to do the heavy work while the real power lies in Penang and Kajang, waiting for the right moment to discard (Mahathir) or perhaps even brought to justice by his teammates or is invited by God to return to the heavens.
“It is not his fault. Power is needed. There is much to be protected, too many cronies have made requests, and many interests must be fulfilled.
“It is not his fault. He has been told that many are behind him, he purportedly has the power to change the government, and that he is purportedly ‘superman’,” he added.
Annuar, who is also the incumbent MP for Ketereh, said throughout his life, Mahathir has pinned the blame on others.
“May he be blessed with health and may Allah return him to the path of piety,” he added.
