NAJIB TO DISSOLVE PARLIAMENT ON APRIL 6?

PETALING JAYA – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s schedule this week suggests that he is likely to dissolve the Parliament on Friday (April 6).
Najib is scheduled to travel across the country for events from Tuesday (April 3) to Thursday (April 5), but will return to Putrajaya on Friday to chair the Cabinet meeting.
According to Sin Chew Daily, Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz said the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday (April 4) was postponed to Friday.
Adding to the likeliness of this Friday’s dissolution is that the Barisan Nasional manifesto for the general election will be unveiled on Saturday (April 7) at the Bukit Jalil Stadium.
The Barisan manifesto is traditionally launched after Parliament is dissolved.
Bernama quoted Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan as hinting that Parliament could be dissolved this week.
“Chances are, based on our previous experiences, the launch of the Barisan manifesto will be held after the dissolution of Parliament. That is the tradition,” said Abdul Rahman.
The Dewan Rakyat and Dewan Negara sittings will also end on Thursday, which leaves Friday a likely day for the long-awaited dissolution.
During the 13th General Election, Najib announced the dissolution of Parliament on Wednesday April 3, 2013, after the Cabinet meeting.
A customary photo with the entire government line-up is traditionally taken on the final Cabinet meeting and will be regarded as the last photo before Parliament is dissolved.
