The school plans to build a sports complex on the 1.2ha federal land.
KUALA LUMPUR: The government has approved the application of Sekolah Menengah Persendirian Chong Hwa, Sentul, for a 1.2ha piece of federal land under 99 years’ lease for the purpose of building the school’s sports complex.
Natural Resources and Environment Minister Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said the approval of the lease application was also agreed by Prime Minister Najib Razak after the review process by relevant agencies such as the Federal Territory Land and Mines Office.
“This is my second time here following my first visit in November last year to offer lease of federal land for the purpose of the school teachers’ parking lot then.
“Within this six months’ period, two parcels of federal land are leased for the sake of the progress of our children, and this shows the prime minister’s concern for any educational institution to be assisted as much as possible,” he said at a press conference after the handing over of the offer letter to the school.
MCA president Liow Tiong Lai and his deputy Wee Ka Siong were also present. -FMT
