The Sabah BN chairman says it is a tradition that should be preserved.
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman has urged people in Batu Sapi to ensure the Sandakan parliamentary constituency remains a Barisan Nasional (BN) stronghold.
Speaking during an event in the area, Musa reminded the people to keep voting BN candidates in the coming polls.
“We need to ensure the BN candidates in this area win just like in the last general election,” said Musa.
“We’re all proud that Batu Sapi has been a stronghold of BN for a long time and this tradition has to be preserved.”
Musa, who is also Sabah BN chairman, urged the people not to be duped by the propaganda of the opposition.
He also asked the rakyat to be loyal to the party and their leaders.
“Ever since I was in Usno, I’ve never betrayed the party and I am sure the people of Batu Sapi will also be loyal.
“The government is committed to helping the rakyat, so don’t ever betray the government.
“Don’t mar the image of the party and it’s our responsibility to ensure our leaders remain in power.”
Musa, who is also Sabah finance minister and Sungai Sibuga assemblyman, said being loyal to the party was being loyal to one’s family.
“We have so many ethnic groups in Sabah who live peacefully and respect one another,” he said.
“We are all the same and nothing divides us. We are one big family.
“Similarly, being in Umno is like belonging to a big family that we should cherish. Once in Umno, always in Umno.”
Musa said loyalty to the government was a tradition inherited by Sabahans from a long time ago.
