See-To: The facts behind Bersatu's deregistration

Bersatu had never intended to use its own logo to contest in the 14th general election, and its response to the provincial dissolution by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) is to make Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak appear guilty of pulling the strings, said Eric See-To.
In a statement this evening, the BN Strategic Communications Department deputy director said Bersatu's prolonged failings and lack of funding have put the party in its current predicament.
"The troubles for Bersatu with ROS have been known for months.
"Even their own members have been complaining about lack of organisation and funding in Bersatu. Even until today, they are not sure if their Srikandi (Women's) wing is valid or not, or who their head is.
"Various Bersatu leaders, including Dr Mahathir (Mohamad) and Muhyiddin (Yassin), have admitted that they were having difficulties in meeting ROS requirements," See-To said.
Mahathir, who is chairperson of the coalition Pakatan Harapan and Bersatu, earlier pinned the blame for the temporary dissolution of Bersatu on Najib, in order for BN to win the 14th general election.
See-To pointed out that there has never been an "actual" party election in Bersatu, and both the party and Amanah's logos are new and "far less known" than the DAP and PKR logos.
He said that it had always been Bersatu and Harapan's intention to use one common logo for the coming election, with even DAP offering to not use its "Rocket" logo in the election.
"Because Bersatu never had the intention to use their logo for the election. If ROS threatens to deregister their party due to their own failings and lack of funding, the biggest beneficiary will be Bersatu and Harapan, as they can play the victim and use this incident to blame Najib and BN.
"Even if ROS allows Bersatu to use its logo in the forthcoming election, Bersatu will not use it. And these are the facts," See-To said. - Mkini
