GE14 | Umno women’s chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil today lambasted several party veterans for being critical of the party after stepping down from their ministerial positions.
Not mentioning any names, she said these veterans had forgotten that it was BN-Umno who had enabled their success.
“At the present time, we have a few veterans who have forgotten their place. Who would they be if not for BN’s struggle?
“Now that they don’t have any position (in government), everything is wrong. Not just a man but also a woman.
“That woman, adoi, when she held her position she was powerful but now when she does not have any position, she makes all sorts of accusations,” Shahrizat told a hall of BN women's wing members in Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur.
Of late, two Umno veterans namely former foreign affairs minister Rais Yatim and former international trade and industry minister Rafidah Aziz have made many statements critical of the present administration under Najib Abdul Razak.
Shahrizat denied that their stances reflected those of other party veterans.
“They are just a fraction of the veterans, they are not representative of all veterans.
“Don’t think that just because one person says these things, they represent all veterans,” she said. - Mkini
