GE14 | A former minister has agreed with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang that Dr Mahathir Mohamad, at the of 92, is more suited to work in a 1Malaysia clinic to treat patients for free.
“I support this (proposal) to treat PAS leaders who are 'sasau' (senile)... and have the potential to go mad when they lose in the coming general election,” he added in a Twitter posting.
Yesterday, Hadi said he pitied Mahathir for still being involved in politics at this age.
“By right, he - a doctor by profession - should work at a 1Malaysia Clinic to give free treatment to patients, and do charity. But he is contesting in the general election, I pity him,” he added.
At a press conference today, Mahathir returned fire, saying Hadi was more suited to be a preacher than a politician.
Meanwhile, Zainuddin, who is better known as Zam, continued to criticise the Umno-owned newspaper Utusan Malaysia.
He was the former editor-in-chief of Utusan Malaysia but trained his guns on the newspaper following its attacks on Mahathir.
About 20 hours ago, he tweeted a photograph of a stack of unsold Utusan Malaysia newspapers at a shop in Putrajaya.
“This is the consequence of drowning and insulting Tun Dr Mahathir contesting in Langkawi... at a shop in Putrajaya at 8pm,” he had said.
Two hours ago, he posted another message on Twitter stating how his earlier posting had attracted a huge viewership.
“I don't understand, just a note with a photograph of Utusan Malaysia which is not selling for belittling the news of Mahathir contesting in Langkawi was visited by more than 18,000 people until 5pm (today).
“Perhaps because of the sentiment towards Mahathir,” he added. - Mkini
