In their first appearance together as rival PKR deputy president contenders, Mohamed Azmin Ali and Rafizi Ramli were today spared from questions by the media.
PKR president-elect Anwar Ibrahim was quick to point out that the media seemed no longer interested in the duo's rivalry as all questions were directed towards him.
"Why are you not asking Azmin and Rafizi questions?
"When they were not together, all of you were so busy asking... even when I was in Singapore I was asked (about them)," Anwar quipped.
The press conference was held to formally announce Anwar as Harapan's candidate for the forthcoming by-election for the Port Dickson parliamentary seat.
Also present were outgoing PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and other party top guns.
Anwar further commented that members of the media were only interested to ask about the duo's rivalry when met separately but not when they have put up a show of solidarity.
His remark drew laughter from the members of the media.
Both Rafizi and Azmin have formed their own teams of PKR members contesting for various party positions, from the central leadership all the way to their division levels.
Today marks the first the time the duo appeared on the same stage since party election campaign began on Aug 5.
Anwar previously said that he has no intention of being caught between factions aligned to either Rafizi or Azmin in the current run-up to the party polls.
