WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO NEW MALAYSIA – HAVE DAP, PKR & AMANAH GONE DEAF & DUMB? YOUNG MALAY LAWYER FADIAH HAULED UP AGAIN BY COPS FOR ‘SUPPORTING LGBT, SECULARISM’ & ‘TWISTING THE HISTORY OF COMMUNISM IN MALAYSIA’

KLANG: Lawyer-activist Fadiah Nadwa Fikri was called in for questioning again at the Klang district police headquarters today following a police report lodged against her by a member of NGO Gerakan Muslimah Islam Malaysia.
This is the third time the lawyer has been hauled in for police questioning.
She was questioned under Section 505 of the Penal Code for making “statements conducive to public mischief”.
In the police report sighted by FMT, the GMIM member claimed Fadiah was “twisting the history of communism in Malaysia” and “supporting the LGBT society, secularism and others”.
Fadiah said the GMIM member had made the report based on her remarks at a forum in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of the Malayan Emergency at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall on July 29.
She said the report was also based on an article by Utusan Malaysia which had painted her as “glorifying the communist party”.
Fadiah is taking the paper to court over the article in question.
She claimed she had received death threats and threats of violence after the report was published.
“I am in the process of filing summonses against Utusan for their defamation. I have issued a letter of demand against them.
“Last week, they refuted everything and denied the allegations, but I am going to proceed with filing the statement of claim,” Fadiah told reporters after giving her statement to the police today.
Fadiah was first questioned at the Brickfields police headquarters on July 11 under Section 4 (1) of the Sedition Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act over a column she had published on a blog called Malaysia Muda.
She was called in for questioning a second time under Section 9 (1) of the Peaceful Assembly Act over a vigil held in solidarity with her on July 12.
