PETALING JAYA: Malaysia defeated Indonesia 3-2 in their Group G opener of the 2022 World Cup/2023 Asian Cup qualifiers at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta tonight.
Mohamadou Sumareh scored the country’s first goal in the 37th minute and the match-winner in the 97th minute.
Syafiq Ahmad, meanwhile, scored Malaysia’s second goal in the 66th minute.
Indonesia’s Alberto Goncalves meanwhile scored a brace in the 12th and 39th minute. - FMT
