Police seek public help to track missing woman Moganambal

Police have appealed to members of the public with information on the whereabouts of G Moganambal, the wife of one of the three men shot dead by police in Rawang on Sept 14, to come forward.
Selangor police chief Noor Azam Jamaludin said the cops are still looking for the 35-year-old woman to facilitate investigation into the robbery case.
"We are searching for her and we need help from the public who know her whereabouts," Noor Azam said.
However, pressure group Citizens Against Enforced Disappearances (Caged) called on Noor Azam to track down Moganambal through his own men who were involved in the shooting of the three.

Cages also requested Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador to step in and offer protection to the whistleblowers.
"The IGP must publicly offer total protection for any police whistleblowers who tell the truth.
"In this case (of Moganambal), the appeal of the police for help must be to the members of the force, not to the public. Use existing whistleblower hotlines if there are any, if not set up new ones immediately.
"The people have zero trust in the police handling the case of missing Moganambal," Caged adviser Rama Ramanathan said.
The trio - G Thavaselvan, S Mahendran and Moganambal's husband V Janarthanan (photo) - were shot dead by the police in Batu Arang, Rawang.
The family had claimed that Moganambal and her husband, who held a UK permanent resident status, arrived in Malaysia last month to visit a sick relative, while saying that the incident was a "kidnap and murder" case.
Police had claimed that there is no record of Janarthanan's arrival at any of the country's entry points and that he was wanted for a robbery at a construction site in Sentul in 2016.
Noor Azam had said that during the incident, the men refused to stop for checks which led to a high-speed chase between them and the police.
He said shots were then fired towards the police and the police team returned fire, killing all three.
Police had seized two semi-automatic pistols and three parang, among other items.
The family has alleged that Moganambal went out for dinner with the three a day before the incident took place but Noor Azam stressed that she was not in the car when the men were gunned down in the shootout. - Mkini
