
PKR’s Lembah Jaya assemblyman Syed Ahmad Abdul Rahman Alhadad, better known as Altimet, says allegations surrounding a RM9.5mil transaction linked to an individual known as “R” be handled strictly through facts.
He also said that unverified claims risk misleading the public and damaging institutions, while stressing that any credible evidence should be submitted to authorities for transparent investigation.
“We uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and the rule of law.
“No individual will be protected if wrongdoing is proven, but at the same time, no one should be punished based on perception or speculation without valid grounds,” he said in a statement on Friday (March 27).
Altimet highlighted the importance of maintaining public and investor confidence in governance, warning against speculation or narratives that distract from national priorities.g the public and media practitioners, should adopt a responsible attitude in disseminating information,” he added.
Meanwhile, the secretary-general of the ruling party, Fuziah Salleh, said action will be taken against any party that continues to spread slander or baseless allegations against the party leadership.
She said PKR views seriously recent viral posts attempting to link the party leadership to allegations of receiving sums of money to settle matters related to certain interests, including claims involving elements of a “corporate mafia”.
“Legal action will be considered and taken where appropriate, whether against individuals within or outside the party,” she said in a statement last week.
She also said any allegations made without solid evidence should not be treated as facts, let alone used to tarnish the reputation of individuals or the party. — Focus Malaysia
