PUTRAJAYA: Core public services, including healthcare and education, will not be affected by the proposed review of government operating expenditure.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said essential medical services, including the recruitment of new doctors and nurses as well as the construction of clinics, will continue.
"Regarding the restructuring and review of certain expenditures, there has been some confusion.
"Medical services and the recruitment of new doctors and nurses are not affected at all. Clinic construction is also not affected.
"It is only the more luxurious scope of hospital projects that will be reduced slightly," he told reporters after officiating the Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Ministry's monthly assembly here today. - NST
