A VIRAL social media post by a PAS supporter has sparked controversy by claiming an organised internal plot exists to position PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang’s son as the future Terengganu Menteri Besar (MB).
The whistleblower alleges that recent high-profile appointments – including naming the son as Terengganu PAS deputy commissioner, central PAS information chief, and a member of the powerful Ulama Syura Council – are strategic moves to anchor the president’s office’s dominance.
The individual also claims that the appointment of the PAS president’s son as the Deputy Commissioner of Terengganu PAS is seen as part of a “strategic step” to strengthen the influence of a certain faction within the party.
While the whistleblower claims senior leaders oppose this trajectory, no concrete evidence was provided.
PAS leadership has not issued an official response, and Terengganu remains under the administration of current Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar. The claim was made through a social media post that has gone viral since yesterday (June 26), which also questions several appointment decisions within the PAS leadership recently.
He also claims several figures in the state leadership are said to have been “weakened”.
“Therefore, if the next election takes place, the Terengganu Chief Minister’s Office will have been controlled from the start,” he said.
There are figures within the Syura Council and the old leadership of the party who did not agree with the said appointment, but their views are said to no longer be given attention.
“Why do I dare to speak out? Because the madness that is happening requires courage to fix it,” he added. — Focus Malaysia
