He was among five arrested by MACC over alleged abuse of power in the sale of eight plots of land at below market value.

An MACC source said the suspects comprised the chairman, who has a “Datuk” title, two company directors, a technical manager and a female clerk, all in their 40s and 50s.
The agency’s chairman is alleged to have abused his position as then deputy chairman and director in 2015 to approve the sale of the land in Seberang Perai Selatan to a company believed to be linked to an associate.
The source said the plots of land are believed to have been sold at below market value, causing the agency losses of around RM1.96 million, Buletin TV3 reported.
The suspects were arrested between 11am and noon yesterday at the Penang MACC headquarters. They are expected to be remanded today.
MACC chief commissioner Abd Halim Aman confirmed their arrests. - FMT
