The Iskandar Puteri city council says it also issued the company a compound notice for displaying an advertisement signboard without a licence.

The Iskandar Puteri city council (MBIP) said it ordered the premises, located at the Southern Industrial and Logistics Clusters Industrial Park, to cease operations and close down.
“The premises were ordered to cease operations and close because they failed to comply with MBIP’s licensing requirements,” it said in a Facebook post.
The council also issued the company a compound notice for displaying an advertisement signboard without an MBIP licence.
It said it took action after Kota Iskandar assemblyman Pandak Ahmad raised the matter over the upside-down flags at the premises.
The council gave the owner a stern warning and ordered the immediate removal and correct display of the flags.
The operation was carried out together with Pandak and the police.
MBIP said 14 workers, comprising two Malaysians and 12 foreigners, were at the premises during the inspection. The foreign workers were detained and taken to the Iskandar Puteri police headquarters to check their work permit status.
It was the second incident involving upside-down Malaysian and Johor flags in the state in two days.
Yesterday, police arrested a 34-year-old Nepali security guard and a 48-year-old woman after the flags were displayed upside down at a factory in Kulai. - FMT
