Pharmacy enforcement division and police raid nine premises after public complaints.

State health director Dr Kasuadi Hussin said the joint operation by the pharmacy enforcement division and the police was carried out following public complaints.
“Of the nine premises inspected today, seven were found to have 5,584 products, including unregistered weight-loss medicines. Mobile phones and computers were also seized,” he told a press conference in Pengkalan Chepa here today.
He said the enforcement action targeted the sale of unregistered weight-loss medicines suspected of containing scheduled poisons and violating the provisions of the Sale of Drugs Act 1952 and Poisons Act 1952.
“Further investigations are under way, including identifying the owners of the premises and the source of the products,” he said.
Kasuadi said the operation was part of the pharmacy enforcement division’s efforts to curb the sale and distribution of illegal health products.
He urged the public to report the sale of questionable medicines and health products through the SisPAA complaints portal or hotline at 09-7730586. - FMT
