Cops nab tahfiz teacher suspected of sexually assaulting 2 students

 The victims, both aged 11, claim that they were molested by the suspect between July and August.

PETALING JAYA:

A tahfiz teacher was arrested today on suspicion of molesting and assaulting two students.

Ampang Jaya police said the victims, both aged 11, were believed to have been molested by the suspect between July and August at the tahfiz school in Taman Keramat.

The victims also claimed that they were caned on Aug 16 for being undisciplined.

“We arrested the suspect to facilitate an investigation under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act,” Ampang Jaya police said in a statement.

The section deals with physical sexual assault of a child.

Police have obtained a seven-day remand order against the suspect beginning today. - FMT
