Parents concerned about the haze and its impact on their children’s health can choose not to send them to school, said Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.
She said they only need to inform the school if they make such a decision.
The current school policy is to cease outdoor activities when Air Pollutant Index readings exceed 100, with schools closing if the readings exceed 200.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke says his ministry is not privy to developments in the case where a Malaysia Airlines pilot is being investigated for drug smuggling.
Nevertheless, he said his ministry and the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia are taking steps to strengthen checks on aircrew, describing it as the least they could do for now.
