PARLIAMENT | Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has said that jailed PKR de facto Anwar Ibrahim will be given the "best medical treatment" possible.
He told the Dewan Rakyat that Anwar, who is scheduled for surgery on his shoulder this Sunday, will also be accorded the appropriate post-operation procedures.
"We pray that after the surgery, he will have a quick recovery. We hope the medical staff will give him the best treatment possible," said Zahid.
He said this in a response to G Manivannan (PKR-Kapar), who sought details about the investigation on the accident involving a car which was ferrying Anwar to the Sungai Buloh prison in late September.
According to Anwar's family members, his shoulder problems, which began in 2014, were aggravated by the accident.
Anwar's family members also sought a guarantee that Putrajaya would not interfere with the treatment and rehabilitation process.
Meanwhile, Zahid told the Dewan Rakyat that the police are investigating the accident.
