He is believed to have died a couple of days ago from food poisoning.
KUALA TERENGGANU: A doctor attached to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) was found dead in his rented room in Kampung Nyiur Sepohon, here, last night.
Dr Mohd Muaz Mohd Sabri was believed to have died several days before his body was discovered.
Although the cause of death has yet to be confirmed, he is believed to have died of food poisoning.
He and his fiancée were said to have suffered from food poisoning after eating food they had bought from the Kuala Ibai night market.
His fiancee, who is also a doctor at HSNZ, has been receiving treatment at the hospital.
Terengganu Health director Dr Mohammad Omar said they were still waiting for the police to complete the investigation into the case.
“So far, the post-mortem does not suggest any foul play.
“However, several samples have been taken and are being examined according to the normal procedures to ascertain the actual cause of death,” he said.
Kuala Terengganu police deputy chief Supt Suffian Sulaiman confirmed receiving a report on the case.
