DR M’S GRANDDAUGHTER ATTACKED BY UMNO PAPERS: ALTHOUGH SHE DID NOT STEAL LIKE NAJIB & ROSMAH’S SON RIZA AZIZ, MUKHRIZ’S DAUGHTER FLAYED FOR WEARING ‘DESIGNER CLOTHES, TRAVELLING ON LUXURY YACHT’

TWO pro-Umno newspapers, Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian, have gone to town splashing the lifestyle of top government critic Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s granddaughter on their front pages.
Under the headline “Meera Alyana Mukriz’s celebrity lifestyle”, Utusan’s Sunday edition, Mingguan Malaysia said that Meera Alyana Mukhriz lived a celebrity’s lifestyle by wearing designer clothes and spent time travelling around the world on a luxury yacht.
The paper said the article was based on a Facebook posting by a user called “Sudahlah Mahathir”.
Utusan said Meera’s lavish lifestyle had caught the attention of social media users.
The Umno-owned newspaper said Meera, better known as Ally, travelled around the world in a boat named after her. Utusan claimed the boat was given to her by her father, Bersatu deputy president Mukhriz Mahathir.
“Her (Meera) life is the envy of many women in the country. This proves that former prime minister Dr Mahathir’s granddaughter is only human and is unable to resist the allures of a princess’ and celebrity lifestyle,” said Utusan.
Similarly on Berita Harian’s front page article titled “The luxurious life of Dr Mahathir’s granddaughter”, the paper splashed pictures of Meera and her younger sister Melia Serena on a boat with another friend.

The article claimed that a Facebook posting had 14 photographs featuring Meera and a boat named Princess Alyanna.
Berita Harian also highlighted some of the Facebook comments on the posting. Among them were: “This luxurious life is fit for a king,” “this is the result of robbing the country,” and “do you think this family cares about the people?”
“Are the people being used to regain control because they are not satisfied with the wealth they have gotten from the country?” was another comment on the Facebook posting.
According to Berita Harian, the “Sudahlah Mahathir” post said: “This collection of pictures has set aside all the personal images and somewhat obscene because the admin did not want to attack their morals and but wealth.”
The paper said that the collection of pictures posted on Facebook was taken from the accounts of Dr Mahathir’s two grandchildren.
