Economy Grinding To A Halt : Local Supermarts Also Shutting Down

Someone sent this in the comments. Thank you. This is from Milo Suam's blog. A  long established 22 year old supermart in Taman Melati in Gombak has shut down for business. They blame it on the GST. Here is Milo Suam.

"Dengan ini saya Mr Teoh sebagai pengurus TS Mega mengesahkan bahawa, TS Mega akan ditutup terus pada tarikh 1 - 11 - 2017 terima kasih kepada semua pelanggan yang dihormati," tulis pemberitahuan yang mempunyai nota kecil di tepi bahagian atas kanan bertulis— "GST bagi saya tutup kedai"

penduduk Taman Melati mempunyai pelbagai kenangan Pasaraya TS Mega 
sudah beroperasi lebih 20 tahun itu
Dua minggu lalu DPMM mendedahkan peniaga Melayu "tutup kedai" akibat GST

My comments : The other day one of the prepaid bloggers sent a comment saying hypermarts are closing down all over.  But this is not a hypermart. Its just a local supermart.  

The question is where will the people of Taman Melati go for their shopping? Of course they can travel further to another supermart that has not yet shut down.

Or they can do their shopping at the local warongs and the penjual di kaki lima.
