IS THIS WHY NAJIB & CO ARE PROTECTING SEX-SCANDAL DZULKIFLI? THE MOMENT THE NEWS BROKE, MACC SHOULD CALL UP NAJIB, HADI & NASHA

PETALING JAYA – A PKR MP today questioned the focus on Ambiga Sreenevasan’s alleged disclosure of information that PAS leaders had received money from Najib Razak when the bulk of the claims in Clare Rewcastle-Brown’s defence concerned the prime minister himself.
“Ambiga is only mentioned in two small paragraphs of Clare Brown’s defence,” Padang Serai MP N Surendran said in a statement.
“In contrast, there are about 80 paragraphs and 41 sub-paragraphs containing serious allegations against Najib Razak.
“These allegations are in relation to the 1MDB financial scandal, Scorpene submarine case and the prosecution of Anwar Ibrahim.”
Surendran, who is also a lawyer, was referring to the defence filed by Sarawak Report editor Clare in response to a defamation suit by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.
Hadi had filed the suit at the London High Court in April following an article carried by The Sarawak Report on Aug 6 last year.
The article claimed RM90 million was “reckoned” to have entered the accounts of top PAS leaders to woo them into supporting Umno and Barisan Nasional
Clare, who filed her defence and counter-claim to a suit in response to Hadi’s defamation suit, said she and Ambiga spoke about Najib, 1MDB and PAS in July 2016.
“Ambiga had told the defendant that her sources, whom she said were reliable, had estimated the amount that had been paid was around RM90 million,” Clare said in her affidavit dated Oct 11.

Surendran said following Clare’s disclosure, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and other Umno and PAS leaders had called on Ambiga to reveal her sources.
However, he noted that neither Zahid nor the other leaders had said anything about other important matters in Clare’s defence.
“Similarly, there is silence on this from PAS leaders who obviously have seen the defence as their leader is a party to the action.
“In the public interest, Najib himself, being the subject of these serious allegations, must immediately respond to them,” he said.
