KUALA NERUS: The Terengganu government has given the supplier of the amphicoach (amphibious bus) till month-end to deliver the vehicle or face legal action.
Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said so far, the state government had yet to receive the amphicoach although a technical problem encountered earlier had been resolved.
“The amphicoach is ready and still in Malta, but I have been informed there is a delivery problem…but that is the supplier’s problem, not ours,” he said after officiating the Terengganu Quran-reading and Fardu Ain classes ‘khatam’ (completion of reading) Al-Quran ceremony here today.
Ahmad Razif said the amphicoach, purchased by the state government at RM3 million in 2014 was scheduled to arrive in May the following year to boost the tourism industry, besides for use during the flood season.
He said according to the new agreement, Terengganu should have received the amphicoach last June after a delay several times since 2015 but once again, the supplier had failed to honour the agreement. -FMT
