Former Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah has been challenged to repeat his allegations against jailed opposition figure Anwar Ibrahim outside the Dewan Rakyat.
Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul said Husni had to do so because Anwar was not able to defend himself in the Dewan Rakyat when the allegation was made last Wednesday.
At the time, according to the Hansard, Husni had criticised several opposition leaders after praising Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak by claiming that the latter was poised to leave a "zero corruption" legacy.
At one point, Husni accused Anwar of being a sodomite and said: "Sodomy. He was involved with my anak buah".
"We are brought in tears [sic]. I went to Jordan. I read the scriptures. If people are involved in sodomy, God will cruse them and the whole population will suffer like in Sodom, Jordan," said Husni, according to to the Hansard.
Husni did not explain what he meant by "anak buah", which could mean "subordinate", "nephew" or "niece" in Bahasa Malaysia.
He eventually stopped talking about Anwar after he was told off by the speaker, but not before naming a particular person.
"Everybody in UKM knows," said Husni, according to the Hansard.
Johari said the opposition would lodge a qazaf report against Husni if he could not prove his claims.- Mkini
