Parti Warisan Sabah president Mohd Shafie Apdal was summoned by the MACC again this morning, according to one of his aides.
“He is needed to verify some documents,” said the aide, who spoke to Malaysiakini on the condition of anonymity.
According to him, Shafie was initially expected to turn up at the MACC office last Thursday, but postponed it to 9am today.
However, the aide does not expect Shafie to be arrested, as the Semporna MP will fly to Kuala Lumpur to attend an ongoing sitting of Parliament.
Shafie was arrested on Oct 19 as part of a MACC dragnet in Sabah, in relation to allegations that funds meant for rural development projects were misappropriated between 2009 and 2015.
Apart from Warisan leaders, several Umno figures were also snared, including Shafie’s brother, Lahad Datu MP Yusof Apdal.
