STUDENT IN SHAH ALAM KIDNAPPED FROM BUS STOP & RAPED AT SECLUDED SPOT

SHAH ALAM – A 27-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping and robbing a 22-year-old university student on Wednesday (Nov 1).

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Shafien Mamat said the incident occurred at about 8.30pm when the victim was alone at a bus stop in Seksyen 7 here while on her way home.

He said the suspect had stopped his car and pretended to ask for directions from the victim.

He then pointed a knife at her and pulled her into the car before driving away.

ACP Shafien said the suspect took RM100 cash and a mobile phone from the victim before “releasing” her.

He said acting on a tip-off, policemen arrested the suspect at about 4am on Friday at an apartment in Port Klang near here.

He said police recovered a black shirt, a pair of blue jeans, red shoes, a knife, a phone belonging to the victim and a car.

He added police believed the suspect had acted alone and had a previous record for house trespassing.

He said investigations are being carried out for rape and armed robbery.
