TMJ dedicates M'sia Cup win to 'father of Johor football'

Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who is also the owner of the Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) football club, dedicated the Malaysia Cup win over Kedah last night to the late Suleiman Mohd Noor, the “Father of Johor Football.”
Tunku Ismail said the dedication was to keep a promise made to the late Suleiman, an iconic figure in Johor, to revive Johor football’s glorious days.
"Loyalty is to continue the legacy of another person, not only when he or she is alive but even if they are not around. I dedicate JDT’s Malaysia Cup victory to the late Suleiman Mohd Noor who passed away on Aug 7, 2017.

“Suleiman was a dedicated individual who had taken Johor to the pinnacle of Malaysian football by winning the Malaysia Cup in 1991, which was 26 years ago," said Tunku Ismail in the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook, today.
Tunku Ismail said though winning the Malaysia Cup was not JDT’s ultimate goal, the victory is dedicated to the late Suleiman who had contributed tremendously to football in Johor.
"I would also like to take the opportunity to thank the fans and the JDT family, players, officials and team management,” said Tunku Ismail.
JDT beat defending champions Kedah 2-0 to lift the Malaysia Cup at the Shah Alam Stadium last night.
