Someone sent me this. This is very sad. In a snapshot these figures (which I dont think are incorrect) shows what happens when you replace common sense with hot air.
*The Falling Ringgit (Rate on Feb 27)*
2017 : S$1 = *RM3.16*
2016 : S$1 = *RM2.99*
2015 : S$1 = *RM2.65*
2013 : S$1 = *RM2.50*
2009 : S$1 = *RM2.38*
2005 : S$1 = *RM2.32*
2001 : S$1 = *RM2.18*
1996 : S$1 = *RM1.85*
1992 : S$1 = *RM1.59*
1987 : S$1 = *RM1.18*
1983 : S$1 = *RM1.10*
1978 : S$1 = *RM1.04*
1973 : S$1 = *RM1.03*
1965 : S$1 = *RM1.00*
(Before *1965* same currency)
*US-Singapore*
1985 : US$1 = *S$2.31*
2017 : US$1 = *S$1.40*
*US-Malaysia*
2017 : US$1 = *S$1.40*
*US-Malaysia*
1978 : US$1 = *RM2.10*
2017 : US$1 = *RM4.40*
2017 : US$1 = *RM4.40*
There does not seem to be a reversal.
That suggestion was indeed correct. To see the real growth of the country, lets measure the GDP in constant US Dollars. Then we will know how poorer we have become.
