Anti-Jo Ghani club promises 'BBQ lamb party' if he is not fielded

The Aku Budak Chow Kit Club (KABCK) will throw a "huge party" with five barbecued lambs if Titiwangsa MP Johari Abdul Ghani is not fielded in the constituency for the coming general election.
The club's chairperson Ahmad Ayob Ramli also told a press conference today that club members were indeed behind the putting up of placards and banners rejecting Johari in Titiwangsa recently.
"We will be very thankful if Johari is not chosen (to defend his seat).
"Actually, KABCK is not politically inclined in any way. We just want to tell Johari to be more concerned about his voters.
“We used to be staunch supporters of Johari but of late, we are disappointed with his performance as an elected representative," said Ayob.
Images of the placards reading "Say no to DJ" (Datuk Johari or Datuk Jo) and banners rejecting him in Titiwangsa went viral on social media recently.
The banners and placards were believed to have been put up around Chow Kit and Keramat.
One banner stated: "We the grassroots of Titiwangsa plead to the prime minister to choose a candidate other than Johari," with hashtags #rejectJohari, #arrogantJoe and #aslongasnotJoeGhani."
Johari, who is also the second finance minister, has dismissed the attacks as sabotage by his own Umno party members.
At today's press conference, Ayob again requested Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to replace Johari with another candidate for the 14th general election.
He said there were other candidates who could contest in Titiwangsa and who were "way better and had more calibre" than Johari.
Ayob said their request did not mean that they were against the government.
"We are not fighting the government. We did not cuss the prime minister or Johari. We just asked the PM to reassess Johari," he said, adding that the club did not view the displaying of their banners as going against the law.
He pledged that the 1,000 members of KABCK would not vote for Johari, should be fielded again in Titiwangsa to represent BN. -Mkini
