Najib: Vote BN to ensure Pagoh's development continues

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak was reported by Bernama as saying today that if no party such as BN represents the people in Pagoh, it will be difficult for any development or allocation to be approved or disbursed.
The Pagoh parliamentary seat is currently held by Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, who was a former deputy prime minister and Umno deputy president.
According to Bernama, Najib said the BN government will ensure that the development of Pagoh continues if it is given the mandate once again in the parliamentary constituency in the 14th general election.
The prime minister reportedly highlighted the implementation of the High Speed Rail (HSR) as a major development that would bring significant changes to Pagoh, with economic benefits in particular.
“HSR will go through this area (Pagoh). It means Pagoh will undergo a major change (in the future),” he said.
Najib was speaking to approximately 20,000 members of the BN Youth and Puteri machinery, prior to launching their national-level gathering at the National Youth Skills Institute in Pagoh near Muar today.
Other attendees included Johor BN chairperson and Johor Menteri Besar Mohamed Khaled Nordin, BN Youth chairperson Khairy Jamaluddin, Puteri Umno vice-chief Zahida Zarik Khan, MyPPP president M Kayveas and Pagoh Umno division acting chief Ismail Mohamed.
Najib urged Pagoh residents not to worry about the BN leaders in Pagoh who could represent them in the parliamentary seat.
“As long as the party is still there, we will continue the struggles. Don’t worry, other leaders can come forward. Mohamed Khaled here can help, I can also help. Pagoh will continue to forge ahead. If there is no party, nothing can be done,” he said.
Muhyiddin, who was then contesting under Umno, beat Mohd Razali Jamil of PAS for the Pagoh parliamentary seat in GE13 by 12,842 votes.
‘Empty opposition promises’
Najib reportedly also took the opportunity to criticise electoral pledges made by opposition parties, saying that they were empty promises that were never fulfilled.
This included the promise to solve the Selangor water crisis.
“Don’t be swayed by their promises because chances are it’s just empty promises. Look at the promises made by (the) Selangor government. What is the biggest woe in Selangor now?

”Right now, two million people in Selangor are experiencing water supply disruption, low water pressure and bad quality of water,” he was reported by Bernama as saying.
In contrast, the premier said that BN had fulfilled its promises to solve the people’s problems.
This was demonstrated by the implementation of various development projects, such as the construction of affordable houses which were sold at much lower prices than those offered by the opposition-led Selangor and Penang governments. - Mkini
