Another politician nabbed after testing positive for drugs

A Hulu Selangor division youth chief of a political party was arrested after testing positive for methamphetamine.
According to Sinar Harian, the arrest happened during an operation last Saturday, but only came to light today.
The report said the 30-year-old politician was detained by the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) at his home in Batang Kali, at around 2.15pm.
The politician was then brought to AADK’s office in Kuala Kubu Bharu where a preliminary test showed he tested positive for drugs.
The report quoted Hulu Selangor AADK officer Mohd Ghazali Abdul Rahman as confirming the operation, which he said was based on a complaint.
Ghazali told the Malay daily that the politician was remanded for 14 days at the Kuala Kubu Bharu Sessions Court today.
"The case is being investigated under Section 3(1) of the Drugs Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983," he said.
Section 3(1) empowers an officer to take into custody any person whom he reasonably suspects to be a drug dependent.
Earlier this month, Bandar Tun Razak Umno chief Rizalman Mokhtar was arrested at a nightclub, with a preliminary test showing that he tested positive for drugs.
However, his urine sample sent to a lab later turned out negative.
Rizalman claimed he only had coffee at the nightclub, and claimed he was set up. - Mkini
