Police say the rally does not comply with the Peaceful Assembly Act.
KUALA LUMPUR: Police will summon organisers of a rally held in front of the Sogo Shopping Complex here today.
Dang Wangi police chief, Shaharuddin Abdullah said the rally was held without permit as the organisers had failed to comply with the stipulated terms and conditions.
“We called the organisers to discuss the terms and conditions of the rally but they failed to comply. They have also flouted the law under Section 9 of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012,” he told reporters here.
Shaharuddin said police would open investigation papers and hand them over to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
Some 200 policemen were deployed to the scene to control the situation at the two-hour rally which began at 2pm. - FMT
