Harapan to decide on common logo next week

Pakatan Harapan will decide on its common logo next week, said Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, putting to rest weeks of speculation about the matter as the clock ticks closer to the 14th general election.
Lim, who is DAP secretary-general, said the presidential council meets every Tuesday to discuss such issues.
"All I can say is that we will make an announcement next week," Lim, who is Penang Harapan chief, said when pressed to divulge more information about the issue.
The issue of the common logo was raised as Bersatu has not been able to obtain approval from the Registrar of Societies (ROS) before the election date.
DAP organising secretary Anthony Loke had told Malaysiakinithat DAP would either contest under its own logo or Harapan's.
Contesting under Harapan's logo is out for now as the ROS has yet to register the coalition, citing Bersatu's uncertain status.
However, Bersatu and Amanah have agreed to contest under the PKR logo in the forthcoming national polls, which must be called by Aug 24.
Speculation is rife that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak would call for the dissolution of Parliament this Friday, paving the way for early May polls, before the month of Ramadan.
On Monday night, DAP central executive committee met at the party's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur but the logo issue was still under discussion.
"We have not finalised the matter yet," Lim, who is Penang Harapan chief, had then told Malaysiakini.
It is learnt that DAP's concern about using PKR's logo instead of its own during the polls may create confusion among its grassroots and voters. - Mkini
