Dr Mahathir Mohamad has vowed to defy the Registrar of Societies (ROS) after his party was temporarily dissolved on Thursday.
Mahathir also dared caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak to arrest him for breaking the ROS' rules.
"Tonight I am wearing the Bersatu shirt. Hey, Najib, come and arrest me. Come and arrest everyone.
"So Bersatu is outlawed and can't hold any activities. Ladies and gentlemen, I say "pi rah" (don't talk nonsense).
"We will do what we want to do. We can't wear the shirts, so we will wear the shirt. We can't hold meetings? We held one last night (Thursday).
"Whatever Bersatu can't do, we will do it in numbers," Mahathir said at a Harapan rally in Pasir Gudang, Johor tonight.
He added that Najib will have to build a big pen to hold all the arrested Bersatu members.
The ROS temporarily dissolved Bersatu on Thursday for failing to submit its documents as requested.
Mahathir, however, claimed the ROS had been uncooperative and had not replied to Bersatu's earlier letter.
He claimed the ROS stalled the registration matter in order to take action against his party.
The Umno splinter group, which was formed in 2016, had been facing troubles with the ROS over its annual general meeting that was held in December last year.
The ROS had raised questions as to how the party's national-level meet was held before the branches and divisions did so.
Despite the temporary dissolution, Bersatu's members will be able to contest the next general election as their party, and other Pakatan Harapan components, have agreed to use the PKR "eye" as their common logo. - Mkini
