Khalid Samad apologises to voters

Incumbent Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad today apologised to those he may have wronged during his stint as an elected representative for his constituency.
The apology, said the Amanah lawmaker, was because he was uncertain whether he will contest the seat again.
"I would like to apologise for any shortcomings. Maybe there were issues I could not take to the Parliament, wishes I have left unfulfilled.
"For that, I am sorry.
"Whether or not I will contest in Shah Alam is yet to be finalised as we will only know when the nominations are made," he told a press conference at his service centre in Shah Alam.
Khalid won the Shah Alam parliamentary seat with a 10,939 majority vote against BN candidate Zulkifli Nordin in the 13th general election on a PAS ticket.
He has since joined PAS splinter party Amanah and Khalid said he is optimistic he can win the seat again should he be given the chance to defend it in the 14th general election.
"If I'm made a candidate, God willing, I will accept it, and even if I'm not chosen, I will support whoever is fielded.
"Whatever the case, I would like to thank and apologise for any shortcomings during my stint. What matters now is continuing the struggle for the betterment of the country," said Khalid.
The Shah Alam parliamentary seat has 99,957 registered voters - of which69.93 percent are Malays, 14.94 percent Chinese and the rest comprising other races. - Mkini
